Westerham Hills (73 miles)

Today will go down as the day that I finally came of age as a cyclist. I cannot underestimate the headwind that I was dealing with today. 72.5 miles @ 16mph with 4,200ft of climbing riding solo with no shelter available from the headwind was momentous.

The main Cat 4 hills were Cudham Lane, Hosey Hill, Toys Hill, Ide Hill, Fackenden Lane and Old Terry's Lodge. Throw in the smaller Star Lane at St Mary's Cray and Darenth Hill on the way back, it was a significant amount of climbing. I'm very pleased indeed considering the lack of climbing I've done this year.
